About Us at Fishtales
Fishtales was established in 2004 by Robert and Rhonda Bradley, life-long residents of Greene County.  The colorful resort shop is the culmination of two of their deepest passions, their love of Christ and their love of the Lake Oconee area and its residents.

Married almost thirty years now, Robert and Rhonda were childhood sweethearts.  After marriage, Robert operated his family’s dairy farm and taught school.  Rhonda became an insurance agent and worked for a local agency for twenty-one years.

The vision for Fishtales was conceived during a time of physical and spiritual change for the Bradleys.  Tiring of their occupations, both went back to school, Robert to be a school administrator and Rhonda to be an information technology teacher.  About this time Rhonda was encouraged to attend a “Walk to Emmaus”, a weekend presenting Christ in a wonderful light.  Rhonda came back changed.  She encouraged Robert to go, which he did the next fall.  After the walks, both knew that whatever they did, Christ would have to be in the center of it.  They expected “it” to be in a school setting, but a trip to St. Simons in 2003 radically changed their plans.

During that 2003 trip, the Bradley’s revisited a shop there that they knew and loved called “Go Fish”.  Driving home, the idea ruminated about how neat it would be to own a shop where you could visit with friends and customers, share Christ intimately, and give back to the community.  A follow up trip to Go Fish in early 2004 confirmed this desire when the Bradley’s discovered that Rhonda’s college roommate owned the Go Fish shop.  Doors started opening immediately and Fishtales came to be.

The Bradleys hope your visit to Fishtales will be an enjoyable shopping experience.  While browsing among inspirational gifts and listening to Christian music, one can also shop the area’s finest collection of resortwear.  Lily Pulitzer, Fresh Produce, Johnny Was, The North Face, Columbia, Reef, Crocs, Life is Good, brands you know and trust, are all represented in the store along with many other items that fit your lake area needs.  So, Come!  Enjoy!
